James and Andrea Meier are wed

Wedding vows were exchanged Aug. 1, 2003, by Andrea M. Silknitter of Whitewater and James Dean Meier of Marion. Pastor Janzen of the Swiss Church, Whitewater, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Vance and Judy Silknitter of Whitewater. Lloyd and Linda Meier of Marion are parents of the groom.

Instrumental music was provided by Marchel Thiessen of Wichita, organist, and Marcia Ensz of Whitewater, pianist. Vocalists were Mary Griffith of Marion, Don and Marilyn Brown of Newton, and Ed and Chris Flora of Sedgwick.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore white satin gown fashioned by her mother. The princess-style gown featured a jewel neckline and a sheer organza train trimmed with embroidered roses. Lace trimmed the bottom of the back pedal skirt. The bride carried an arrangement of pink spray roses combined with pink roses.

Jennette Silknitter of Whitewater attended the bride as maid of honor. Kari Schmidt of Newton was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Belinda McDonald of Pella, Iowa, and Julie Martin of Emporia. Christine Silknitter of Whitewater was junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore sleeveless A-line gowns fashioned with empire waists, and jewel necklines. Each carried a single pink rose.

Abby Tyson of Whitewater and Dallas Jost of Peabody were flower girls. Ring bearers were Dawson Jost of Peabody and Jesse Meier of Lehigh.

Jon Meier of Lehigh served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Nathan Silknitter and Clint Silknitter of Whitewater and Dustin Martin of Emporia. Scott Silknitter of Whitewater was junior groomsman.

Guests were seated by Darin Schmidt of Newton and Darwin Stoesz of Omaha, Neb.

Guest book attendants were Marie Konarik of Manhattan, Lindsey Bobbitt of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jillian Shaffer of Wichita.

Gifts were received by Joey Reeves of El Cajon, Calif., Annette Ensz of Whitewater, Austin Jost of Peabody, and Aubrey Meier of Lehigh.

Steve and Vicki Anderson of Whitewater were hosts at the reception which was held on the lawn of the Whitewater Federated Church. Reception attendants were Amber Reeves of El Cajon, Calif., Jill Meier of Lehigh, and Lesa Jost of Peabody.

The bride is a graduate of Berean Academy and Butler County Community College. She currently is attending Emporia State University.

The groom is a graduate of Marion High School and also attends Emporia State University.
