Jamie Ward
Jamie L. Ward, 20, Florence, died Friday at HCA Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Her death was the result of a tragic vehicle accident that afternoon near Walton on U.S.-50.
A waitress at Town and Country Café in Florence, she also was a cashier at the Wal-Mart store in Newton.
She was a 2001 graduate of Marion High School and attended Good News Christian Fellowship, Marion.
Survivors include her mother, Charlene Lawrence, and stepfather, Dale Coe, both of Florence; stepbrother, Dale Coe Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla.; four sisters, Christina Newman of Wichita, Jennifer Swanson of Meadowgrove, Neb., Naomi Coe and Debra Coe, both of Florence; grandmother, Dorothy Asmus of Florence; uncle, Jay Ward of Elmdale; aunts, Sue Taylor of Pittsburg and Mary Beck of Duncan, Okla.; and many friends.
Memorial services were held Tuesday afternoon at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion with Pastor Larry King officiating. The body was cremated.
A memorial has been established in her name with the American Red Cross.
