Janet Parker
Janet L. Parker, 72, died Aug. 16, 2005, at her home in Atchison.
Born Aug. 5, 1933, at Newton, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Florence (Kittell) Slocombe.
On Aug. 6, 1955, she married Harold Parker at Peabody. The couple moved to Atchison in 1963.
She was a member of Atchison United Methodist Church and active in numerous church organizations and committees.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Piper of Leavenworth; two sons, Landon Parker of Woodland Park, Colo., and Todd Parker of Fairway; a sister, LaVonne Hannaford of Marion; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Atchison United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eduardo Bousson officiating.
Memorial funds have been established with Cancer Research or the American Heart Association.
