Janet Sue Christenson
Janet Sue Christenson, 50, of Wichita died July 27, 2005, at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.
Born Dec. 30, 1954, at Anthony, she was the daughter of Harold and Shirley Trucker.
She grew up in the Tampa area and graduated from Centre High School in 1972 and LPN nursing school in Wichita in 1975. She worked at St. Francis Hospital and the Kidney Dialysis Unit in Wichita.
On May 19, 1984, she married Albert Christenson in Wichita. He survives.
On March 21, 2005, she received a successful kidney transplant. Her death was caused from other complications.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1976; brother, Ronald in 1979; sister, Deborah in 1960; and grandparents Eugene and Jamima Gates and Edith Waggoner.
Survivors include her husband; children, Sarah and Andrew; mother and stepfather, Shirley and Duane Hamm of Hillsboro; stepbrother, Myron Hamm of Greer, S. C.; and step-sisters, Charlene Thiessen of McPherson and Cherie Goossen of Hillsboro.
Funeral services to celebrate her life were held July 29 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita. Burial was at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, rural White City.
A memorial has been established with the National Kidney Foundation and First Baptist Church, Durham.
