Jeffery Rosine

Jeffery Douglas Rosine, 46, Peabody, died August 31, 2007, at his home.

Born May 24, 1961, at Newton, he was the son of Don and Beverly (Tatro) Rosine. He attended Peabody schools and earned a GED at Newton.

Jeff was a very talented and caring individual. He was an EMT and always kept his certification current. He also was a member of the EMS team at Kiowa. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge #142 at Newton and worked for Reliance Energy at Peabody.

He had also worked at Oklahoma City for Tuboscope as a lead man for Prestress Concrete at Newton. Jeff also had been employed by Baker Furniture and Peabody Hardware.

At one time he was a biker. Jeff designed and built several motorcycles.

He loved to mentor children and was a bus driver for the Peabody school system for many years. He also helped coach softball. In return, the children loved him.

Jeff's other love was his animals and he had a "magic" with them. Many times he was able to handle animals that others could not touch, a "horse whisperer." He was a team driver for the wagon train, bareback rider, horse breaker, leather crafter, cattle hand, and muleskinner.

Jeff was extremely proud when he celebrated his 20th anniversary of sobriety in March of this year.

He was a caring father, son, companion, brother, grandfather, and friend. He had a huge heart of gold and would help anybody. You were an acquaintance of Jeff's for only a short time and then you were a friend for life. Everybody loved Jeff.

He is survived by his parents: Beverly Rosine of Newton; Don and wife Cheryl Rosine of Peabody; fiancee Liz Cashner of Peabody; three daughters, Jackie and husband Conroy Miller of Burns, Jessica Rosine, and Sabrina Cashner of Peabody; four brothers, Randy and wife Janet Rosine of Duncan, Okla., Jim and wife Chris Philpott of Peabody; Aaron and wife Sarah Waddell of Marion, and Andy Rosine of Wichita; a sister, Amy and husband Randy Halcomb of Hurst, Texas; one grandchild Barrett (Bubba) Wayne Miller of Burns; special Uncle Leonard Koehn of Peabody; and many, many, many friends.
