Jeffrey to play in two all-star games

Marion High School senior Calvin Jeffrey will play two final basketball games during his high school career as a member of two separate all-star teams.

He will represent MHS Saturday in the Mid-Central Activities Association vs. Heart of America League game at 7:45 p.m. at Hesston College's Yost Center.

This is the third annual game, which includes only seniors in the two leagues, and has seen the MCAA claim victories the first two seasons.

MHS 2007 graduates Travis and Jason Hett led the MCAA to a two-point victory last year with 15 and 14 points respectively.

A girls' game will precede the boys' game at 6 p.m.

Tickets will be available at the door and are $6 for adults and $4 four students.

For more information on the game contact Hesston College head basketball coach Tim Swartzendruber at 620-327-8210 or women's coach Joel Kauffman at 620-327-8279.

Jeffrey also will be participating in the Emporia Optimist Club game which chooses seniors from six different counties to compete in its all-star game.

The game will be played at 8 p.m. March 29 at White Auditorium, the home of Emporia State University.

Past Warrior players have included Dale Vogel, Travis and Jason Hett, and Erin Carr.
