Jerome Axman
Jerome T. "Jack" Axman, 79, died April 8, 2003, at Hoisington.
Born July 1, 1923, in Barton County, he was the son of Joseph F. and Mary (Stoss) Axman.
He was a lifetime resident of Olmitz and a 1942 graduate of Olmitz High School.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and fourth degree Knights of Columbus Council 2100, as well as a former school board member for Otis-Bison USD 403.
On May 18, 1953, he married Betty Mae Smolik.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Axman; two brothers, Ben and Hank Axman; and a grandson, Joseph Jerome Axman.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Mae; three sons, Mike Axman and Joe F. Axman, both of Olmitz and Paul Axman of Hoisington; three daughters, Lillian Palsmeier of Conway Springs, Barb Boldt of Oakley, and Rita Hickel of Hoisington; a brother, Joseph B. Axman of Great Bend; and 13 grandchildren.
A wake service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday followed by the recitation of the rosary at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington.
Funeral Mass was held Friday morning at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, with Father Ultan Murphy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with the American cancer Society or Knights of Columbus Council 2100.
