Jirak, Gfeller exchange vows
In a ceremony performed at 2:30 p.m. July 26, 2003, Teresa Gfeller of Lincoln, Neb., and Albert Jirak of Tampa were united in holy matrimony.
Father John Jirak of Blessed Sacrament Church, Wichita, performed the double ring rites in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lincoln.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Bruce and Janet Gfeller of Lincoln. Francis and Mary Jirak of Tampa are parents of the groom.
Bess Morin of Lincoln was the organist. Vocalists were members of the Family Choir and St. Joseph's Folk Choir of Omaha. Jean Timmerman was choir director.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown fashioned with short sleeves. Lace, pearls, and sequins trimmed the scoop-necked bodice. Her veil was floor-length and featured thick lace trim matching that of her gown. The 35-year-old veil had been worn by all of the bride's aunts and the bride's mother. The bridal bouquet was an arrangement of candlelight roses.
Kathy Gfeller of Lincoln attended the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Maria Jirak of Tampa, Rachel Trausch and Margaret Kenny of Lincoln, and Kellie Smith of Derby. Kristine Jirak of Tampa was junior bridesmaid. The attendants wore long, off the shoulder navy blue gowns with satin trim. They carried calla lilies.
Monica Jirak and Dominic Jirak of Goddard were flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.
James Jirak of Goddard served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Travis Gear of Wichita, Jason Gfeller of Lincoln, Paul Johnson of Emporia, and Lucas Carlson of Lincolnville.
Guests were seated by Mike Armour of Clonmel, Brandon Grosshardt, and Brian Ziegler of Hoxie.
Margaret LeDuc of Lincoln was the guest book attendant. Gifts were received by Shannon and Michelle Mathews of Lincoln.
Keith and Barbara Mathews and John and Sharon Hanigan were hosts at the reception which was held at the Empire Suites in Lincoln.
The bride is a graduate of St. Pius X High School in Lincoln. She attended Kansas State University for three years and currently is attending Wichita Area Technical School to become a certified medical assistant.
The groom is a graduate of Centre High School. He received a degree in computer engineering from Kansas State University and is employed at Cargil Meat Solutions as a computer programmer.
The couple honeymooned along the Oregon coast. They will reside at 1200 Season's Court, Goddard, after Nov. 1.
