Josh Lollar

Josh D. Lollar, 19, Herington, died Aug. 8, 2002, in Wabaunsee County, due to a pedestrian/automobile accident.

He was born Feb. 7, 1983, at Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of James T. and Katherine I. (Wind) Lollar.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the United Methodist Church, Herington, with the Rev. Edward J. Thompson officiating. Burial was Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pine Bluff, Ark.

Josh was a sophomore at Kansas State University, Manhattan, majoring in chemistry. He was a member of the National Honor society and graduated as salutatorian of the Herington High School class of 2001.

In high school he was on the Quiz Bowl team, president of Stuco., and a letterman on the baseball team. He was on KSU Honors Regency and received special recognition from Duke University, computer programming through the University of Kansas. He was active in scouting (Webelos), UMYF, and the United Methodist Church, all of Herington. He lived in Herington since he was eight months old.

Survivors include his parents James and Katherine Lollar of Herington; his maternal grandmother Irene Wind of Cincinnati, Ohio; a brother Matthew Lollar and wife Melisa of Pine Bluff, Ark.; a sister Jenny Stover and husband Gary of Rison, Ark.; two nephews and a niece.

The family requests memorials to the Herington High School Alumni Association in Josh Lollar's memory.
