Judicial district makes appointments

Eighth Judicial District recently announced the appointments of two positions.

Michael Krueger has been hired as director of the Eighth Judicial District Community Corrections program and will be responsible for day-to-day operations of all programs in the district.

Krueger was employed as institutional service manager at Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility, Miles City, Mont. He has more than 17 years of experience in corrections and law enforcement. He received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the University of Kansas and a master's degree in clinical psychology from Fort Hays State University.

He also has held positions with Sedgwick County Department of Corrections, Clarence M. Kelly and Associates, Douglas County Sheriff's Department, and Kansas Highway Patrol.

Nikki Davenport recently was promoted to chief court services officer for the district. She replaces Todd Heitschmidt who accepted the court administrator's position in the 28th judicial district.

Davenport will be responsible for day-to-day operations of the court services department.

She has nine years of experience as a court services officer and was employed with 20 judicial offices as a court services officer prior to her employment with the Eighth Judicial District. For the past three years, Davenport has served as a supervisor for court services.

Davenport is a graduate of Kansas Wesleyan University where she received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and criminal justice. She also is involved with Kansas Association of Court Service Officers where she serves as vice president.

The district serves Marion Dickinson, Geary, and Morris counties.
