Julie and David Sellmeyer wedding

The marriage of Julie Sparks of Emporia and David Sellmeyer of Vinita, Okla., was solemnized Sept. 21, 2002, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emporia. Father Dan Gardner performed the double ring ceremony at 2 p.m.

Lectors were John Sellmeyer and Mary Leonard. Harold and Joan Blits were in charge of the presentation of gifts. Eucharistic ministers were Carolyn Hill, Dorothy Harris, and Elmer Finck.

The bride is the daughter of Karen and Bob Ehrlich of Marion and Jerry and Sherry Plenert of Canton. She is the granddaughter of Esther Plenert of Hillsboro and Alfred and Darlene Sondergard of Ramona.

The groom is the son of Agnes and Raymond Sellmeyer of Vinita. His godparents, Edmond and Mary Ellen Skarke, were special guests at the ceremony.

The bride was attended by LaVonne Finck of Hays as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were her sisters, Lori Scott of Spring Hill and Sheri Plenert of Raleigh, N.C.

Greg Nitzel of Calumet, Okla., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Jim Ellett of Hope, N.M., and Steve Grandstaff of Lecompton.

Guests were seated by Chris Meierhoff of Marion and Rick Becker of Emporia.

Heather and Jaimie Sellmeyer were the guest book attendants. Gifts were received by Wyatt Ehrlich and Emilie Harris. Programs were distributed by Blake and Tyler Virdin. Flower attendants were Becky DeLozier and Kristy Hill.

Cori, Sam, and Katey Ehrlich, Kaitlyn and Kody Leonard, and Lauren Harris were in charge of bubbles and balloons.

All flowers for the wedding were created by the bride's mother.

Al and Karen Plenert and Wes and Norma Virdin were hosts at the reception which was held at the Eagles Club in Emporia. Reception assistants were Jane Basler, Sheila Young, Tammy Lawson, and Amy Becker, all of Emporia.

The bride is a graduate of Asbury School of Nursing in Salina. She is employed by Integris Grove General Hospital.

The groom received an associate degree from Northeast Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Okla., and a bachelor degree in animal science from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. He is a farmer/rancher.

Following a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park, the couple lives at 25257 S. 4490 Road, Vinita, Okla.
