Julie Kerbs qualifies for Ultimate Soccer Mom finals
Julie Kerbs of Tampa qualifies for finals nationwide
This summer, got milk? is on a nationwide mission to find America's "Ultimate Soccer Mom" — the mom who carpools her kids to games, cheers them from the sideline, and, of course, fuels her children with milk.
As part of the search, the got milk? 3v3 Soccer Shootout Tour stopped in Wichita June 14. After judges reviewed hundreds of video nominations, Wichita's "Ultimate Soccer Mom" has been found. Thanks to the winning nomination from her child, Julie Kerbs of Tampa has been given the title of Wichita's "Ultimate Soccer Mom." The winning entry was submitted by Julie Kerbs's son, Rustyn. Julie Kerbs is now a national finalist in the Ultimate Soccer Mom search.
Mothers across the country just like Julie Kerbs are working hard to make sure a supportive attitude and good nutrition remain a key part of their families' daily habits. The got milk? campaign is honoring these "Ultimate Soccer Moms" by conducting a nationwide search for those moms who encourage physical activity and a healthy diet.
In nominating his mom, Rustyn spoke, on a videotape, with admiration for her efforts. "She comes and watches all my soccer games. And she makes sure I stay healthy by giving me milk."
At the got milk? 3v3 Soccer Shootout "Momination" booth in Wichita, kids explained why their moms deserved to become the "Ultimate Soccer Mom" through a brief video nomination or online essay. For those who missed the chance to nominate their moms in Wichita, essays can also be submitted through www.whymilk.com.
Julie is now entered in the national finals of the "Ultimate Soccer Mom" search. The national winner and her family will attend a special soccer mom training camp with Joy Fawcett at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., win a Chrysler Town & Country minivan and appear in their own got milk? ad. The grand prize winner will be selected this fall.
There are 50 "regional" nominees, actually one from each of the United States, Julie Kerbs told the Marion County Record. You have to win the national competition in order to be selected to do one of the "milk mustache" commercials, she said.
Julie Kerbs's husband, Russell, has a dairy on the south edge of Tampa. Rustyn is 10 and has a sister, Ashton, who is 19
