Parents of Marion High School students now may access a vast array of information about their children via the Internet.
K12Planet.com offers a database covering grades, attendance records, class assignments, and scheduled events for MHS students.
Individual information on the website may be accessed by using a personal account. Parents and students no longer need to guess about grade point averages, deadlines for assignments, or changes in activity dates.
Information contained on the website is completely confidential and may be accessed securely. Students and parents may e-mail teachers and faculty with questions and concerns.
"We see its potential to bring teachers, parents, and students together in closer collaboration, making the demands of school life and continued study easier for the students and you as a concerned parent," said Jim Versch, MHS instructor.
Versch is the contact for parents wishing to register for this program.
Those who would like to get a username and password for an account can do so by calling the school secretary at 382-2168 or 800-493-2007, or e-mail verscjim@teen.k12.ks.us to contact Versch.
Marion Middle School also is participating in the program. Parents may call the school at 382-6070 or 800-493-4007. They also may e-mail Versch for information.
A self-starter packet will be generated, including username and password, first time instructions, and overall directions. Users are able to setup K12Planet securely and smoothly, and assist in aiding children's success in school.
K12Planet is a free service and can be beneficial to both parents and students.
