Kansas Day speaker to portray noted editor
The spirit and personality of world famous editor William Allen White will be portrayed by a program Wednesday at Marion.
Frederick Krebs will present the portrayal, a program which has been widely acclaimed by audiences.
The program will be a special observance of Kansas Day, to be held at 1 p.m. at McGillicuddy's Restaurant in Marion. It is sponsored by Kansas Humanities Council as part of the "History Alive" series.
Pulitzer Prize winning editor White of Emporia was in the national spotlight for years, entertaining celebrities and Presidents at his home in Emporia.
He was the author of several books, and editor of the Emporia Gazette where his opinions were voiced.
The public is invited to attend the program, an observance of Kansas Day. Reservations must be made by today, Wednesday, by calling 382-3418. The cost of the meal, including Kansas roast beef, is $10 per plate.
