Kelli and Dennis Kerschen wedding

Kelli Robin Hajek and Dennis William Kerschen were married May 17 at the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita.

Father Ken VanHaverbeke, Msgr. Charles Regan, and Father John Dinan were concelebrants at the ceremony.

Jerome and Donna Hajek of Marion are parents of the bride. Doris Ewert of Marion and Mildred Hajek of Lost Springs are the bride's grandmothers. The groom is the son of Rich and Hannah Kerschen of Wichita and grandson of Rosella Maupin of Wichita.

Music was provided by a string quartet consisting of Suzie Schiffel, Martha Schreiner, Camille Burrow, and Cindy Cook. Shirley Wiebe was pianist and Rob Knapp was vocalist.

The groom's sister, Karla Shepard, was the lector.

Offertory gift bearers were the bride's uncle and aunt, Paul and Rae Lene Hajek.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory white satin A-line dress with a sweeping floor-length train. The satin halter neckline had a fitted bodice, which had a satin flower waist accent.

The bride carried a bouquet of white roses wrapped with a white satin ribbon. She also carried a white handkerchief belonging to her great-grandmother, Lucy Kline.

Kimberly Helmer attended her sister as matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Lynette McLean and Krystil Yust.

The attendants wore sleeveless champagne satin floor-length gowns and carried mixed flower nosegays.

The bride's niece, Drew Helmer, was flower girl. She carried a white satin purse filled with mixed flowers. The groom's niece, Kathleen Shepard, was the honorary flower girl. Both girls wore sleeveless white satin dresses with a white beaded bodice accented with champagne satin waist bows.

The groom wore a black tuxedo.

Brian Kerschen served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Erick Harper and Robert Lightcap.

Jackson Shepard, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer. The bride's nephew, Hunter Helmer, was an honorary ring bearer.

Program and guest book attendants were Stephanie Hajek and Amanda Ewert, both cousins of the bride.

Guests were seated by David Shepard, brother-in-law of the groom, and Mark Franken.

The bride's personal attendant was Jill Kerschen, sister-in-law of the groom.

Dennis and Janis Maggard of Marion and the groom's uncle and aunt, James and Sally Kerschen of Dodge City hosted a reception which was held at the Wichita Country Club.

Following a wedding trip to Maui, the couple resides at 207 South Glendale, Wichita.

Rehearsal Dinner

The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner May 16 at Cibola's Restaurant. Invited guests were the wedding party and the couple's close family members. Following the dinner, everyone enjoyed a picture tribute and toasts honoring the couple.
