Kruse wins best of show at Lions Club car show

Alan Kruse of Marion took home the Best of Show trophy Saturday for his 2004 Dodge pickup at the 13th annual Marion Lions Club Car Show. This was the first year it was held in conjunction with Chingawassa Days.

Other winners were:

Class three, Fords — 1. Clinton Jeffrey, Marion, 2002 Ford Mustang. 2. Mark Vinduska, Marion, 1996 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra.

Class four, GM — 1. Stan May, Marion, 2002 Chevrolet Corvette. 2. Alan Kruse, Marion, 2000 Trans AM.

Class seven, antique — 1. Monty Frazier, Wichita, 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline 2-door. 2. Bob Demars, Salina, 1934 Ford Coupe.

Class eight, best unfinished — 1. Harold Fulk, Herington, 1941 Chevrolet 2-door sedan.

Class 11, best pickup — 1. Alan Kruse, 2004 Dodge pickup. 2. Nathan Hoffman, Marion, 1970 Chevrolet.

Club choice — Dillard Klein, Abilene, 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.

Best engine — Steven Clore, Herington, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.

Best interior — Ronald Herbel, Marion, 1958 Chevrolet 2-door.

Chingawassa choice and farthest distance award — Bob Demars, 1934 Ford Coupe.
