KU announces 2005-06 scholarship recipients years ago

The University of Kansas has awarded $8 million in privately funded scholarships to students in fall 2005.

The $8 million supported 7,200 need- and merit-based scholarships awarded to 4,900 students on KU's campuses in Lawrence, Kansas City, Overland Park, and Wichita. Many students receive more than one scholarship. The total does not reflect scholarships for the spring 2006 semester.

Marion County students receiving scholarships include William Scriven, Florence, Dean A. McGee Scholarship in Geology, Frederick T. Holden Scholarship.

Amanda G. Voth, Goessel, Paul R. Wunsch Law School Scholarship.

Adam Driggers, Hillsboro, Daniel MacMorris Scholarship in Painting, Lockwood Scholarship.

Jacqueline C. Grunau, Hillsboro, Dean A. McGee Scholarship in Geology.

Emily Ratzlaff, Hillsboro, E. William Ulrich Scholarship, Herbert Rucker Woodward Memorial Scholarship, Paul and Virginia Bassett Miller Engineering Scholarship, Wayne Moody Scholarship.

Matthew Schmidt, Lehigh, Dr. Earl A. and Kathleen A. Merkel Medical Scholarship.

Tina Hardin, Peabody, Bremyer Summer Clerk Scholarship.
