KVC event attracts hundreds
Approximately 100 motorcyclists and motorcycle enthusiasts filled Marion Saturday during the Kaw Valley Center's Motorcycle Ride for Kids.
The ride benefits children and families who are served by KVC, a private, not-for-profit agency stationed in El Dorado which provides placement and services for foster children and their families.
Motorcyclists arrived at Central Park throughout the morning and enjoyed a barbecue lunch. At noon, drawings were held for prizes, and immediately following an auction was held. Rose Vinduska, KVC supervisor for El Dorado, said the event was a glimpse of things to come for the marriage of KVC and Marion.
"The city of Marion has bent over backwards for us," Vinduska said. "I think it's good for both Marion and KVC. Our intentions are to do this every year. We had only three months to plan this, next year will be much different."
