Lady Warriors defeat Chase County
No doubt, the Marion High School girls basketball team played a good game Tuesday defeating fellow Cottonwood Valley League member Chase County, 74-42.
"Both the varsity and JV played super basketball," said head coach Daryl Enos. "Everything just kind of clicked and everybody was on the same page."
The Lady Warriors started with a seven point lead at the end of the first quarter. By the end of first half, the Marion girls led by 17.
"We stayed at 0-0 for a long time. Then we were at 2-2 for the longest time," Enos said. "Finally we started moving and increased our lead every quarter.
The Lady Warriors had a good shooting night hitting 21 of 28 to hit 75percent of their free throws.
"We also scored a lot of points, which was another big plus," Enos joked. "It was kind of a good experience."
Enos said everyone on the team contributed to the win and felt all members were "fairly happy" with their individual performances.
"It was a night where every member filled their role well," Enos said. "I think some of them may have even been amazed at what they accomplished."
The Marion girls basketball squad continued league play Friday night meeting Council Grove at home. The Lady Warriors record is 2-3 overall, 1-0 in league play.
