Lake: Everyone thankful for beautiful weather

Thanksgiving turned out to be a beautiful day. We took out dinners from the school to September Apartments. Eating together there were Anna Hanschu, Elfie Switzer, Dorothy and Woody Wilson from Potwin, Virginia Gettinger from Overbrook, Dean Snelling and friend Julie, Dale and I, and Alvina Hoffman. It was a wonderful, delicious meal. Thanks to all the cooks and helpers who make it possible. I know they put in long hours and give up their day to do it.
My sister Virginia Gettinger was our houseguest Thursday and Friday. After Thanksgiving dinner, we drove to Wonsevu to show her our house and what we have been doing to it. Dean and Julie also drove out. Mark, Leann, Kiana, and Levi Lewman came by in the evening to visit. We shopped in Marion Friday morning, visited the cemetery, and drove around Marion and the lake before she returned home. We celebrated the birthdays of Lynn and Kristy Hess and Dale on Saturday with a lasagna supper and desserts (everyone said they were tired of turkey). Attending were Dan, Tammy, Tristen, and Seth Snelling, Mark, Leann, Kiana, and Levi Lewman, Lynn, Kristy, and Jayde Hess, Dean Snelling and Julie. Leann, Mark, Kiana, and I attended the Copper Shed's open house Sunday afternoon.
When we were out driving around we saw several lake people putting up their Christmas lights. There will be some pretty displays again out here and in town. Be sure you spend an evening driving around to see them.
We had a few fishermen over the weekend. Some were guys whose spouses were doing the Christmas thing of shopping and they didn't want to go along and some were visiting for the holiday.
Fishing, or catching of fish, is still slow, but there were a few crappie and some blue gill caught along with some nice catfish. We also had one camper. They always come on Thanksgiving weekend to enjoy the outdoors!!
