Lake: What was that stuff?

Can anyone clue me in to what that stuff was falling from the sky Sunday evening? Someone said it was rain! Just joking, we had .80 in our rain gauge. I wish it would have been more, but we'll take what we get. Our helper, Mike Benda, said he got 2 1/4" up around Lincolnville. That must have been nice. At least it cooled off a little for a few days. I was about to give up on watering my yard and flowers, maybe this little spurt of rain will help.
The lake was full of boaters, jet skiers, and swimmers Saturday and Sunday. That is about the only way to beat the heat, being in the water.
We had several camping groups this past weekend. Trinity Baptist Church, out of Wichita, had about 30 dads and sons camping, fishing, and swimming Friday evening. Looked like they all had a good time.
Then Boy Scout Troop 7, out of Salina, came. I don't know the number of boys they had but there were six adult leaders with them. They worked on archery, swimming, cooking, and fishing merit badges. They liked it so well here they are planning on coming back again in the fall.
On Thursday of last week, Prairie View held their day camp here. They used the hall and beach area for swimming, canoeing, and games. They had two full buses. They have been coming here for several years.
The hall was used on Sunday by the Heller-Higgins family and also the Pracht-Pratt families.
Several nice channel cat were taken over the weekend. Barbara Jarrell of Newton caught two nice ones off the heated dock. One weighed nine pounds and the other, four pounds. Trent Bartlett of Whitewater caught two while camping with his family. They weighed four pounds seven ounces and four pounds three ounces.
Chicken liver and dip bait continue to be the best baits. Bass fishing is best early in the morning and late in evening when its cooler.
