Laue, Myers are married

Christine Laue and Christopher Myers of Omaha, Neb., were united in marriage Jan. 24, 2004, at the Scoular Building Ballroom in Omaha, Neb. The Rev. Dr. Sarah Voss officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Harvey and Betty Sanders of Marion. Parents of the groom are Bob and Pat Myers of Wisner, Neb.

Special guests during the ceremony were the bride's grandmother, Carol Laue of Lyndon, and the groom's grandmothers, Betty Zoucha and Betty Myers of Wisner, Neb.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin, A-line gown with a fitted bodice featuring a bateau neckline and drop waistline. The dress had a sheer overlay with three-quarter length sleeves adorned with hand-embroidered seed pearls, irridescent beads, and a flowing chapel train. She wore a Swaroski crystal bracelet and earrings. Her all-white freesia nosegay bouquet with rolled leaf and stem was wrapped with a sheer white rouched, pearl-accented band.

Serving her sister as maid of honor was Carol Laue of Mayfield. She wore a floor-length, black, V-necked sleeveless gown with shawl. She carried an all-white freesia bouquet with a silver rouched band accented with black pearls.

Charlotte Waner of Marion and Kristi Fogler of Denver, Colo., were the bride's personal attendants.

The groom wore a five-button black tuxedo with black illusion vest, white shirt, and traditional black tie.

Brent Myers of Omaha, Neb., served his brother as best man.

Ring bearers were Justin and Joel Myers, nephews of the groom, from Omaha, Neb.

Music was provided by Ashley Hassebroek on the piano and violin, vocalist Dominic Margaglione, and Julia McCord on piano.

Readings were given by the groom's sisters, Kelly Myers of Columbia, Mo., and Lynn Myers of Rapid City, S.D.

Jennifer Berquist of Lawrence was the guest book attendant. Corey Weber and Aldi Ulfers of Omaha, Neb., were in charge of the gifts.

A reception and dinner followed the ceremony at the same location. Marq Manner of Omaha, Neb., was the reception DJ. Cake servers were Nichole Aksamit, Melissa Matczak, and Karyn Spencer, all of Omaha. Reception hosts were Chris Weber and Laura Heinemann of Ann Harbor, Mich.

The bride is a graduate of Marion High School. She earned a journalism degree from the University of Kansas and is employed as the pop-culture reporter at the Omaha World-Herald in Omaha, Neb. She will retain her maiden name.

The groom graduated from Wisner-Pilger High School. In 1996, he earned a degree in broadcast communication from Quincy University in Quincy, Ill. He is employed as a chef's apprentice at the Doubletree Hotel in Omaha and is enrolled in the culinary arts program at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha.

The couple is at home in Omaha, Neb.

Marion reception

A reception celebrating the marriage of Christine Laue and Christopher Myers was held March 27 at Marion Christian Church.

The reception was given by the bride's parents, Harvey and Betty Sanders. Refreshments were served by the bride's cousins, Kelli Foreman of Newton, Kris Page of McPherson, Kim Spicer of Omaha, Neb., and Laurie Howland of Garden City, Holly Finley of Chanute and Erin Spicer of Omaha, Neb., were gift attendants.

Charlotte Waner of Marion was the guestbook attendant. Mick and Marge Summervill of Marion were reception hosts, greeting guests as they arrived.

Charla Wheeler served as church wedding coordinator assisted by women of the church. Assisting were Lori McLinden, Donna Hayen, Joann Helm, Jessica Helm, Carole Spohn, and Diane Sams.

Special guests were Christine's godmothers and their husbands, Carol and John Carini of Kings Park, Long Island, N.Y., and Hedy and Ruben Bauck of Vassar; the groom's parents, Bob and Pat Myers of Wisner, Neb.; and the bride's grandmother, Carol Laue of Lyndon.
