Laura Stecher
Laura Grayce Stecher, 82, of Baldwin City, died Nov. 12, 2003, at Baldwin Care Center.
She was born July 20, 1921, in Tampa, the daughter of Sam and Lula Crandall. She grew up in the Tampa area and graduated in 1939 from Tampa High School.
On March 30, 1979, she married Cecil Stecher in Miami, Okla.
She owned several restaurants in the Baldwin City area before beginning work at King Radio in Ottawa in 1973. She retired from King Radio in 1987, after 14 years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil of Baldwin City; a son, Gary Wigle of Vestaburg, Mich.; two daughters, Delpha Callahan of Ottawa and Diane Unrein of Eudora; two sisters, Jessie Grady of El Reno, Okla., and Dean Davis of Tempe, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday afternoon at Prairie City Cemetery in Baldwin City.
Memorials have been established with the American Cancer Society or Douglas County Hospice.
