Leckliter wins wrestling championships
Jacob Leckliter, El Dorado, won the 6-and-under 40-pound State Wrestling Championship held in Ottawa March 23, and the 8-and-under title the following weekend.
Leckliter pinned three opponents in the first-round of the 8-and-under tournament held in the Topeka Expocenter to propel him to the championship round March 30.
In the championship round, the wrestler defeated his opponent 15-0.
Leckliter is the son of Jeff and Karla Leckliter of El Dorado, and grandson of Gene and Vernie Konecny of Pilsen and Tom and Myrna Leckliter of Herington.
Leckliter is a member of the Wichita Wrestling Club at Kapaun Mount Carmel.
