Legion auxiliary to meet at Burdick

The Burdick American Legion will participate in the Memorial Day services on Monday at the following cemeteries: Diamond Springs Cemetery, 8:30 a.m.; Wilsey, 9 a.m.; Delavan, 9:30 a.m., Mitchell Valley, 10 a.m.; Mission, 10:15 a.m.; Methodist, 10:30 a.m.; Lutheran, 11 a.m.
Deadline for next week's paper is 3 p.m. due to the Memorial Day weekend.
Dan and Linda Peterson entertained on Mother's Day with a dinner for Myrtle Peterson of Burdick, Tom and Susie Omli, Tate, Toby, Sesely, and Sydney of Brookville, and Jim and Marilyn Cox of Peabody. Jeff Peterson of Manhattan visited in the afternoon. All enjoyed a successful fishing trip that afternoon.
Gary Nelson of Lenexa visited Monday night and Tuesday with Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson.
Elmer and Mae Forsberg of Junction City, Audine Strand, Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan of Burdick, Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove, Jane Miles of Abilene, and Bonnie Sill of Herington were visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg throughout the past week.
Supper guests of Kacey Nickel of Tampa Wednesday evening were Charles and Arlene Carlson.
Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Nelson visited Thursday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Don Williams of Council Grove.
Charles and Arlene Carlson attended the White City High School graduation and reception Sunday afternoon for Miranda Peck. Later they visited with Esther Wernecke of White City.
Donna Hanneman of Peabody came Sunday evening to visit Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson and to accompany them to Eldon's doctor appointment on Monday.
Mother's Day weekend guests of Gary and Karen Korte, Erik, Ian, and Erin of Emporia were Forrest and Marie Anderson. The Andersons also spent last weekend with the Kortes to attend Sunday's graduation exercises at Emporia High School. Their grandson, Ian, was one of the graduates.
Marie Anderson and Goldie Steely helped Edna Peterson of Herington celebrate her birthday May 13.
Jennifer Kassebaum and Nellie spent the afternoon of May 13 with Arlene Carlson.
