Legion pancake days are Nov. 1, 8

Pancakes will be served at the Legion Hall Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Nov. 8 from 7 to 10 a.m. The pancake days will be sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion of Burdick.

Lisa Marvin of Atchison came Friday to spend the weekend with Forrest and Marie Anderson. Lisa is the daughter of the Jean and the late Kenneth Anderson and granddaughter of E.T. and Cora Anderson. They visited Charles and Darlene Gutsch on Friday. The Gutschs live in the house originally built by the E.T. Andersons, who resided in Burdick many years. Forrest, Marie, and Lisa visited Friday afternoon with their cousin Neva Peterson.

Earl and Ruth Schump of Herington visited Tuesday evening with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Jill Brummer and Tucker visited Saturday afternoon with Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Mary Deane Peterson visited Saturday afternoon with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Luncheon guests Friday afternoon at the home of Forrest and Marie Anderson were Charles and Darlene Gutsch and their houseguest Lisa Marvin.

Mr. and Mrs. Max Beason of Enid, Okla., and Warren Beason and Roxanne of Tulsa, Okla., visited Saturday afternoon with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Roger and Rolland Peterson drove to Oklahoma City Thursday and visited Junior Dye. On the way home Friday they stopped at Anthony and visited Ruth Warren and at Wellington and visited Wanda Peterson.

Earl and Lois Peterson and Irvin and Audine Strand went to Emporia Thursday afternoon and visited Kenneth Bennett. They went to the hospital and visited Sylvia Burns. Mary Ann White also was at the hospital visiting.

Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia joined Forrest and Marie Anderson and Lisa Marvin Saturday to attend the Hyllingsfest in Lindsborg. They were afternoon luncheon guests of LaVern and Maurine Johnson of Lindsborg.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg visited Mae Forsberg and Janet and Richard Kellogg Sunday afternoon at Junction City.

Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson attended a turkey supper with all the trimmings Saturday evening at the Hillsboro Cove at the Marion Reservoir. Thanks to Clarence and Eva for a wonderful evening.

Nolan Brunner of Lost Springs and Melissa Stimac of Lawrence visited Sunday afternoon with Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Other visitors during the week at the home of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan and Sabrina Dunkin.

Earl and Lois Peterson and Phil and Jamie Peterson went to Lawrence Sunday after church to visit Adriane Peterson and Dana Miller.

Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson attended the concert Sunday evening at Lyons Methodist Church.

A come and go reception is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 26 for Tory Hecht and John Jost at the Burdick Methodist Church.

Attention Senior Citizens: If we are to continue having a Burdick Senior Citizens organization we need your help. Hosts and program ideas are needed for the meetings in 2004. The tentative date for the next meeting is Nov. 21.

Pat Baker spent Wednesday with Neva Paterson.

Monday, Earl Peterson took Harold Hovander to Topeka.

Dr. Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo., came Friday evening to spend the weekend with Neva Peterson. Candice Deneault of Salina also spent Saturday and until Sunday evening with them. Jack Riggin and Galen Peterson were weekend visitors with Neva, Larry, and Candice.

Mrs. Ilene Meyers, Mrs. Grady Parks, and baby Hank of Emporia visited Saturday morning to afternoon with Neva Peterson, Dr. Larry Peterson, and Candice Deneault.

Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington, and Forrest and Marie Anderson visited Saturday morning with Neva Peterson and guests Larry Peterson, Candice Deneault, Mrs. Ilene Meyers, Mrs. Grady Parks, and baby Hank.

Walter and Kathryn Otte and Earl and Lois Peterson went Saturday evening to the Z-Bar Ranch for square dancing.

Friday evening, Earl and Lois Peterson, Dick and Margaret Peterson of Springfield, Mo., and Oliver Peterson went to Herington for the evening meal. Dick and Margaret Peterson were weekend guests of Oliver Peterson.

Candice Deneault, Dr. Larry Peterson, and Neva Peterson were Sunday evening guests of Galen and Janis Peterson. Others there were Janis' mother, Mrs. Taylor, and Gloria Martin.

The Women's Education Extension Unit met Oct. 6 at the home of Marie Anderson for a noon luncheon followed by a meeting. Marie Anderson presented the lesson. Members attending were Helene Brunner, Darlene Gutsch, Nancy Hanson, LaVerna Miller, Isla Rose Nelson, Lois Peterson, Ruth Riggin, Myrtle Peterson, and Pat Nelson of Herington.

Jack and Nancy Riggin, Glenn and Sandy Carlson visited Sunday evening with Neva Peterson, Larry Peterson, and Candice Deneault.

Forrest and Marie Anderson called Sunday on Naomi Nelson, Tom Nelson, and Daniel, their exchange student.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Sunday with Kent and Jean Brunner, Jill Brunner and Tucker, and Nolan Brunner.

Evelyn Carlson of Lindsborg and Nancy Garver of Oklahoma called Monday afternoon on Neva Peterson.

Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody were Sunday visitors of Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson
