Lena Cyr
Lena E. Cyr, 95, Newton, died June 17, 2006.
Born Jan. 17, 1911, at Ames, she was the daughter of William and Delia (Chartier) Biery.
She was a former resident of Topeka.
On Sept. 6, 1930, she married Clarence Cyr at Concordia. He died in 1974.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Everett Cyr; two brothers, J.R. "Bud" Biery and Wilfred "Pete" Biery; a great-granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
Survivors include three sons, Clarence Cyr of Waverly, Mo., Gayle Cyr of Topeka, and Carl Cyr of McPherson; daughter, Jane Liby of Topeka; sister, Phyllis Anderson of Wellington; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass was celebrated this morning (Wednesday) at Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka.
Graveside services were held at 3:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Memorial funds have been established with Hospice of Kansas or Holy Name Catholic Church, Topeka.
