Let's recognize them

Successful events don't happen without volunteers. Some events, such as Old Settlers' Day and Chingawassa Days, are highly publicized and run by groups of volunteers.

Some people are involved in numerous volunteer projects. They are the ones you see working at every parade, ballgame, pancake feed, and school event. They are tireless.

On the other hand, there are behind-the-scenes volunteers who quietly go about the business of making sure things get done. The projects they are involved in might not be visible or may not benefit a large group of people.

All these volunteers are equally dedicated and outstanding. They aren't paid or recognized, other than an occasional word of thanks.

The Marion County Record would like to recognize these outstanding citizens. If you know of someone who should be recognized as a volunteer in the community, send their names to Marion County Record, PO Box 278, Marion KS or e-mail to news@marionrecord.com.
