To the Editor:

On the night of Dec. 7, after a long day on the road, I drove down Main Street, Marion, as a light snow transformed the town into a perfect postcard of winter.

Lighted Christmas trees and wreaths graced every lamp post. There were lighted stars in the belfry of the school on the hill. And, wonder of wonders, a nativity scene stood lighted in the city park.

Thank God there still are towns like Marion that celebrate Christmas and not "Seasons Greetings."

Your town's demonstration that this season is still Christmas brought joy to a wary traveler's heart.
