Rhinos will promote community unity, Chingawassa Days

To the Editor:

The Chingawassa Committee is thinking of ways to increase community interest and involvement in the 2005 event. As you know our "unofficial, official symbol" is Pete the Rhino. It has been suggested that it would be fun and look really neat if in the weeks prior to the event, decorated rhinos started appearing in front of businesses and homes around town. Chingawassa members will get the rhinos and deliver them.

Would you be interested in purchasing a concrete rhino for $100 that you would decorate and display in front of your business or home? The rhino is 20 inches tall, 32 inches long and weighs 130 pounds. Decorating your rhino like the type of business you operate or a favorite hobby would be just a couple of suggestions as to what we have in mind. We want you to use your imagination!

This fund-raiser is open to everyone in Marion — individuals and businesses.

We hope you will consider doing this in addition to your very much appreciated annual contribution for our annual Chingawassa Days.

Feel free to call me at 382-3436 with any questions. Please respond by Feb. 11 so we can begin ordering rhinos.
