LETTERS: Be generous

To the Editor:

The Salvation Army Service Unit is gearing up for its annual Christmas Red Kettle Campaign. We are asking the citizens of Marion County and surrounding areas to help start this joyous holiday season by giving an early gift.

In today's issue, we have inserted an envelope. If you would like to give a donation to The Salvation Army, you may do so by filling out the self-addressed envelope and enclosing a check.

We are committed to meeting basic human needs by serving each person in their body, mind, spirit, and soul. We provide a service of love and compassion and hope the community will join with us, The Salvation Army, in meeting these needs.

The funding from Marion County donors stays in the community to help less fortunate neighbors. We hope the community of Peabody will help us obtain our fund-raising goal and allow us to continue to offer hope of a brighter tomorrow for those in need.

On behalf of those we serve, let me thank you for helping your neighbors in need this holiday season.
