LETTERS: Comments interesting
To the Editor:
I have read with interest and some amusement the comments in the recent weeks' editions of the Marion County Record.
I am quite pleased that the daily lives of citizens such as Mathew Classen and Jean Krebs have not been touched by the war.
Unfortunately, on Sept. 11, 2001, the lives of more than 3,000 of our country's men and women were touched by war. A war that was aided by the regime of Saddam Hussein. The preservation of our normal lives in the United States is one of the goals of our current military.
My thanks to Joan Winter, Margie Sandwell, Dick and Margie Schwartz, Warren Slocombe, Jim and Violet Richmond, the Marion Elementary School students, and the other fine citizens of the county who understand the need to defend our nation's security.
