To the Editor:

There is much talk these days about all the things that are happening at Marion Manor. The article in the paper last week "sugar coated" some of the rumors.

Several employees were fired — corporate states they were justifiable; most of these employees were dedicated to the facility and the residents. We were told "changes" needed to be made to make the facility "a better place."

Several employees quit because these changes did not "add up" and "untruths" were told. Many thought the administration "plotted" employee against employee and decided it was time to move on.

Residents of the nursing facilities need nurtured everyday. They need trust, commitment, continuity, and a healthy environment to maintain emotional and physical needs. Residents "lean" on their caregivers to give them love, kindness, care, and respect. When this tie is broken, the resident suffers.

Everyone in this community, in some time of their life, will seek a nursing facility for a loved one. You will want the best. With dedication from the staff, this transition will have an impact on how the resident will cope with their new journey.

We do need this facility in our community to keep up with the demand of nursing care, but, we need loyal dedication in this community to maintain and uphold the best nursing services one can provide.
