LETTERS: James LaBelle
To the Editor:
There comes a time to speak out against the system and the time is now. Recently the dog issue has caused a lot of problems that should never have happened.
First of all I level a complaint against the editor and his way of being one sided on the issue. Oh I know it could cause a conflict if the toes of the editor's buddy got stepped on.
Why is it that honesty as to what really happened isn't written? Why isn't it written about definite breeds and the dangerous problems that exist? Just because a dog has a class "pit bull" doesn't mean it is dangerous. Yes, some pit bulls are bred for attacks and are extremely dangerous, but there is a class that isn't that way.
I have been bit a few times in my life. All of the times were from small dogs like cocker spaniel, poodle, and a doxie. All were the size of the dog that was killed due to the owners not handling the issue right — like trying to pull his dog from the jaws of the other.
Now that attack has continued on my home, I would like anyone who is frightened for their life and feels unsafe, to call me and I will let them see the dog. I will guarantee one thing, I don't supply any towel to dry their hand. I am not the dog owner!
