To the Editor:
As a new year begins, we want to thank the Marion community and Marion County for support given to the Marion County Emergency Food Bank in 2002.
The Thanksgiving and Christmas season led to gifts of food and grocery items. Special thanks to Marion Boy Scouts, Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Marion High School student council, and many others. We also received monetary donations to help us once again give grocery store vouchers after a short time when we were unable to do so due to lack of funds.
We depend heavily on CROP Walk funds. We encourage greater participation in the 2003 CROP Walks.
The food bank opened in 1985, is located at Valley United Methodist Church, and is maintained by Church Women United.
