To the Editor:
What a great Independence celebration in Marion. The fireworks stand was a huge success! Thanks to Al's Home Repair for the use of the lot and a big thank you to Jami Williams for getting this organized and off the ground.
It was a fantastic fund-raiser for Marion Advancement Campaign. Thank you to all who volunteered time in the stand and thanks to all the patrons who supported the stand throughout the week. I can't decide who had more fun buying the fireworks, kids or adults!
And finally thanks to city commissioners for passing the new ordinance and allowing the sale and detonation of fireworks in town. This was one of the most memorable Fourth of July holidays.
