Library to host Wilder program
Marion City Library will host a special program about Laura Ingalls Wilder: Home Builder of the Prairie, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library.
The program will be presented by Sara Jean Richter, an English teacher from Oklahoma, who is with the Speakers Bureau of Kansas Humanities.
Laura Ingalls Wilder, who is known for her "Little House on the Prairie" books, bridged the gap between the eras of the homesteaders and the home builders on the American Plains. She lived through the American pioneer period to see American civilization established and thriving on the heartland. Through her life and word, readers learned about the struggles and successes that she experienced.
The public is invited to attend and there is no charge. For more information, call the library at (620) 382-2442.
