Lincolnville bank robbed at gunpoint
For the second time in less than six months, Pilsen State Bank at Lincolnville was robbed at gun point.
According to a report from the Marion County Sheriff's office, the incident occurred at 10:05 a.m. March 20.
The suspect, described by bank employees as a white male wearing a red stocking hat and a green hooded jacket, escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, traveling in a white midsize four-door passenger car.
Kurt Spachek, bank president, said he was up front with several other staff members when the robber entered the bank. He said there were no customers in the bank at the time and no one was injured.
Spachek said he followed the thief outside and pursued him in his vehicle. He was led on a high-speed chase through the countryside northwest of Lincolnville and finally gave up the chase after traveling eight miles and reaching a speed of 90 miles an hour.
A surveillance camera captured the man's image on film. He is described as being age 30 to 40, 5'6" to 5'11" tall, and weighing 150 to 180 pounds. Spachek said the image is similar to the composite sketch of the individual who robbed the bank in October.
Responding to the 911 call were Marion County Sheriff's Office, Marion Police Department, Hillsboro Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Wildlife and Parks, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
