Lincolnville Octoberfest is Oct. 5

Lincolnville's annual Octoberfest will be held Oct. 5.

The 11 o'clock parade will feature the theme, "Forever True to the Red, White & Blue." Parade entrants will gather on Lombard Street, one block west of the highway.

Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake feed at the fire station, sponsored by Pilsen State Bank. A free-will donation is requested. Proceeds will go to the fire department.

A flag-raising ceremony will be held at 8:45 a.m. at the pole near the fire station.

Other activities will be held at the park.

Registration for a Pedal Power contest will begin at 9 a.m. with the pull beginning at 9:30 a.m.

A kiddie carnival will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Walking tacos will be served at noon by CHS cheerleaders. Other food vendors will be available, as well as crafters.

Maurice Pritz and his pals will perform from noon to 1 p.m., and the Alex Stuchlik Polka Band will perform from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

A Tae Kwon Do demonstration will occur from 1 to 2 p.m.

A fire department obstacle course for kids will operate from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Karaoke with DJ Gene Winkler will be from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m.

A community dinner will be served at the park shelter house starting at 5 p.m. It is sponsored by the Centre High School after-prom committee.

The day will close with a dance at Renegades from 8 p.m. to midnight.

A medallion hunt will be held again, the prize being a $50 savings bond provided by White Buffalo Antiques. Door prizes will be awarded hourly throughout the day. You must be present to win.

An adult raffle will award a yard swing glider. A kid's raffle will award a bicycle and bike helmet.

Other activities will include a giant slide, pop-a-shot, tattoos, gravity machine, pumpkin patch, Alvey the Clown, Tigger bounce, and ball-pit car.

"Come join us for a fun-filled day," said Octoberfest Chairman Karen Hurt.
