Linda Covey
Linda Covey, 81, died Dec. 31, 2001, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita.
Born Sept. 22, 1920, at Lehigh, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Hattie (Guhr) Martens.
She worked as a waitress and at the dry cleaners in Marion. She was well known for her friendly personality.
Survivors include her son Byron McCarty of Hillsboro; brothers, Alvin Martens of Lehigh and Harvey Martens of Park City; sisters, Anna Smith of Wichita, Frieda Birkle and Elda Pschigoda of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday morning at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Call officiating.
Burial was in Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name with the Renal Care Group of Newton.
