Linda Peterson receives award

Linda Peterson of Burdick was recognized Saturday at the Democrat party Washington Days annual banquet in Topeka.

She was presented the prestigious Georgia Neese Gray Award which is reserved for Kansans who have served in elective office at the municipal or county level and have performed outstanding service to the community.

It is the highest honor which can be bestowed by the Kansas Democratic Party to municipal or county elected officials.

Peterson formerly served as Marion County Commissioner and has been active in civic affairs.
