Lions Club moves car show to Chingawassa Days
Marion Lions Club will sponsor its 13th annual car show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 2, during Chingawassa Days.
The club previously had hosted the popular event on the first Saturday of May. Low attendance prompted the organization to consider a different date and decided to have it coincide with the popular Marion festival.
Car show participants can pre-register for the car show and purchase a Chingawassa Days button by May 25 for $18, a $12 savings.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. on the day of the show and will be held at Fourth and Williams streets, near Marion County Courthouse, Marion.
Entry fees are $10 per vehicle.
Trophies and prizes will be awarded to winners of various divisions.
Advance sales of festival buttons are $20 through May 25. A discount of $2 per button also is available if buttons are purchased in groups of 20 or more, also through May 25. Buttons will be $30 after the advance sales date and at the gate June 2-3.
A $5 pass will be available for Saturday events.
Buttons are available at Central National Bank, Marion National Bank, Tampa State Bank, G&J Video, Carlsons' Grocery, Marion Pharmacy, and Marion City Office, or call (888) 382-0055.
