Living center: Pilsen ladies lead crafts for residents

(For the week of Aug. 27-23)
The church service was given by the Rev. Carl Helm of the Marion Christian Church.
There were small outings on Monday. One group went to the city library for books.
Crafts were led on Wednesday by the Pilsen ladies. We cut large, round circles out of the front of greeting cards, then glued them together, making table mats. We got our nails done during "pretty up " time. Khrista Branson read the Marion County Record for the current events session. Then, we had group therapy with Sue Williams.
Mary Beth Bowers entertained Thursday morning by playing her guitar and singing. She sang interesting songs like "Grandma's Feather Bed" and others. We loved them. In the afternoon, another chapter of the preacher's story was read to the Book Club. This was followed by a popcorn party. Khrista pops the corn in a large commercial popper.
Friday morning was cookie baking time with Khrista. The afternoon was spent playing Bingo with Magdalen Dvorak calling the numbers. Refreshment of snacks and juice followed. Then we had group exercise with May Hebrank.
Video movies were shown Saturday and we again enjoyed popcorn.
The weather stays so hot. Not many sit outside very long in the evenings. It sure is hard on the farmers and their fall crops. Nearly every resident here has connections with farming.
