Local churches are recognized
Two local United Methodist churches recently earned awards during the 2006 Kansas United Methodist Annual Conference at Salina.
Eastmoor United Methodist Church and Valley United Methodist Church received "Creation Care Congregation" awards for ministries of environmental education and care.
Valley UMC also was recognized as a "Healthy Congregation" for activities in health-related ministries.
Pastors are John Goering, senior pastor, and Rick Branson, associate pastor, Eastmoor UMC, and Phillip Smith, Valley UMC.
