Lois Huntley

Lois Marie Huntley, 78, died May 4, 2003, at her residence in Florence.

She was born Jan. 4, 1925 at Bozeman, Mont., to William and Pauline (Riffel) Weyand.

Lois married Harold Huntley at Florence on Aug. 14, 1943. Four children were born: Mike, Jack, David, and Kris.

She was a homemaker who worked hard volunteering for her church and community. She was a member of the Florence Christian Church, Christian Women's Fellowship, Rebekah Lodge, and the Florence Senior Center. She helped with the delivery of Friendship Meals.

Lois is survived by her husband, Harold of the home; three sons, Mike and Lola Huntley and David and Erin Huntley of Newton and Jack and Geri Huntley of Springfield, Mo.; daughter Kris and Galen Hysom of Wichita; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Friday afternoon at Florence Christian Church with burial following at Hillcrest Cemetery at Florence, the Rev. Harold Brown officiated. Bennie Holtsclaw sang "He Touched Me" and "Peace In The Valley." Dolly Soyez provided organ music and the congregation sang to songs, "Take My Hand Precious Lord" and "Battle Hymn of The Republic."

Justin and Nicholas Hysom, Brandon Lee Huntley, Brandon M. Huntley, Brian Huntley, and Jeff Inlow served as casket bearers. Larry Timm, Dale Miller, Rod Ludwig, Harold Triggs, Greg Graham, and David H. Huntley were honorary casket bearers.

A memorial fund has been established with the Florence Christian Church.
