Longhofer, Darrow are wed
Marion Christian Church was the setting May 31, 2003, for the wedding of Gabrielle Longhofer and Christopher Darrow. The Rev. Brad Hansen, pastor of Marion Presbyterian Church officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David Longhofer of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Janet and Chris Killough of Marion. Bill and Debbi Darrow of Marion are parents of the groom.
Candles were lighted preceding the ceremony by Mattie King of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brooke DeGasmo of Grain Valley, Mo.
Music was provided by Anita Brookens of Marion, organist, and Greta Lilly of Wichita and Andrew Brookens of Marion, vocalists.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory-colored embroidered organza A-Line gown with spaghetti straps and low scoop back accented with crystal and pearl drapes and a semi-cathedral train. She carried an arm bouquet of long stemmed yellow and plum wild flowers arranged by Janet Killough and Karen Regnier.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sister, Danielle Bartelli of Olathe and as maid of honor, her sister Nicholle Longhofer of Emporia. Bridesmaids were Lisa Zogelman and Molly Graversen of Emporia and the groom's sister, Carrie Darrow of Marion. The attendants wore floor-length gowns of plum chiffon fashioned with spaghetti straps with scoop necks and matching shawls. Each carried a purple and yellow pomander arranged by Janet Killough and Karen Regnier.
Jason Wheeler of Salida, Colo., served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Chuck Maggard of Emporia, Josh Cooper of Salina, Jesse Bowers of Sedgwick, and the bride's brother-in-law Brian Bartelli of Olathe.
Guests were seated by Aaron Ellsworth of Cedar Falls, Iowa., Josh Davis of Shawnee, Chris Helmer of Marion, Matt Helmer of Salida, Colo., Travis Creamer of McPherson, and Nic Toupin of Santa Rosa, Calif.
Heidi Doyle of Emporia was the guest book attendant. Gifts were received by Sara Bowers of Sedgwick. They also served as attendants, along with the bride's cousin Catie Varenhorst of Lawrence, at the reception, which was held in the church's fellowship hall. A dance followed at the VFW post home.
The bride is a graduate of Marion High School and Emporia State University. She is employed at KVC, a foster care agency, Ottawa. The groom also is a graduate of Marion High School. He attended McPherson College and Kansas State University and is employed at VanNostran Painting, Lee's Summit.
The couple honeymooned in Mexico. They reside at 700A NE Banner in Lee's Summit, Mo.
