Looks like another winner
Chingawassa Days are just around the corner. The seventh annual festival is scheduled next week, June 6-8. Now's the time to get your tickets (at a discount price) and prepare for what looks like another winner in the popular entertainment series.
This year's headline act, "Ozark Mountain Daredevils," is well known and has a wide following. A big crowd is expected, and will be needed to keep the celebration operating in the black. The opening act be at 7:15 Saturday night, is "Synergy," from Wichita. They are popular in the Kansas-Oklahoma region and will make a perfect lead-in to the "Daredevils" at 9 p.m. in Central Park.
Buttons which gain admission are on sale in several Marion businesses.
Friday night will feature a barbecue at 6 p.m., an ice cream social at 7 p.m., Karaoke contest at 7:30 p.m., and dance to the "Soul Preachers" a classic rock group at 9 p.m.
Chain saw carving demonstrations will be conducted Friday and Saturday. This unique skill is enjoyable to observe. Don't miss it.
Saturday is a full day, jam-packed with opportunity for fun. The bed races are always popular, there's a pancake feed, an anvil shoot, gunfighters, mule rides, a polka band, remote control car racing, pedal tractor pull, watermelon feed, bingo, mini dance recital, boot race, search for money in the hay, miniature horse demonstration, a yo-yo and fast draw exhibitions, and others.
Following a continental breakfast Sunday morning a community church service is scheduled in Central Park.
