Dr. Robert and Hallie Novak attended the Kansas Veterinarian convention Jan. 19 at the Airport Hilton, Wichita.

Adella Katz hosted a pizza and salad supper Jan. 19 in honor of her sister, Connie Jenkins' birthday. Connie's husband baked the chocolate birthday cake and decorated it, too. After the supper they ate the cake and ice cream. Guests were Charles and Lori Smithhart of Hillsboro, Steve Katz of Delavan, Selma Ingram, Larry, Oaklan, and Tia Jenkins, and the honoree.

By the way I measure the snow, we had to have had six inches. Some had sleet the week before, which made it slick walk or drive. The road grader went by my place early Jan. 21 to clear off the road. Randy Kahns, letter carrier, was able to make it in and out of my yard. The first time I stepped in the snow I was surprised how deep it was. I made it to the mailbox and back and to the stock tank and back to the house. My son Clark told me Sunday afternoon they had three to four inches of ice and eight inches of snow on top. Lowell at San Antonio, Texas, called me Jan. 19 and said he didn't go to work for two days. All roads were closed due to ice. It was raining while we were talking on the phone.

I was sorry to hear Pat Wick and Jessica Gilbert's mother, Martha Ehrhardt of Ramona died Jan. 18. Martha was 90 years old. When we were young girls, we used to meet at the Sunnyside School during the summer and play on the teeter-totter and swings.

Jakob, Jorge, and Jaxxson Hanschu of Hillsboro were guests of grandparents, Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu from Saturday noon till Sunday evening.

Selma Ingram visited Dorothy Meyer of Herington Jan. 19.

Oaklan and Tia Jenkins ate breakfast with their grandmother, Selma Ingram, Jan. 21.
