My son Clark of Rose Hill picked me up April 14 and on April 15 took me to Wesley hospital in Wichita. I had surgery on my right vascular vein. Thanks to modern technology in medicine, I didn't suffer any pain before, during, and after surgery. I stayed at Clark and Laura's for several days after being dismissed from the hospital. When Clark brought me home this past week, he mowed my lawn.

Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu and her folks, Fred and Marguerite Utech, went to Hillsboro to the sports park to watch Jakob Hanschu, son of Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Hillsboro, play soccer.

Larry Rudolph and Junior Hanschu went to Bob Vajnar's sale Saturday in Tampa.

A week ago Sunday, Mervin and Leona Deines drove to Wichita to visit with Vernon and Bonnie Deines.

Douglas Strecker, Hesston, visited with Clark, Laura, and me April 18 at Rose Hill.

Larry Rudolph visited Friday evening with his sister, Mary Helen Black, Herington. En route to his home, he stopped and dropped off groceries for me.

When I arrived home, I noticed brown spots in my alfalfa. The weevils were at work. I called Hope elevator and they sprayed the field the next day. They told me they were busy spraying a lot of alfalfa fields. We need warm weather and sun.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the confirmation of seven class members Sunday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington. Their granddaughter, Samantha Coup, daughter of Ross and Debbie Coup of Hope was confirmed. After the confirmation, they went to Hope to have dinner at Ross Coup's home.

Gregory Stenzel and Becky Jackson went to Wakefield April 19 to watch Greg's daughter, Nikki, participate in the Centre track meet with Wakefield. En route home, Gregory, Nikki, and Becky stopped at Junction City for dinner. Gregory, Becky, and mother, Betty Stenzel, went shopping Thursday in Salina.

On Friday night, Gregory Stenzel and Becky Jackson went to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church to attend the confirmation class question and answer session. Nikki Stenzel is one of seven members of the confirmation class. Gregory, Becky, and Betty Stenzel attended the confirmation Sunday at the church. Nikki was confirmed.

Clark Strecker, Rose Hill, was my Friday noon dinner guest. He came down to get some strawberry and tomato plants.

Sylvia Bezdek and Irma Reznicek accompanied Bob Reznicek to the Pilsen community building Saturday night to attend the polka dance. Musicians were Mark Oyklidal of Fremont, Neb.

Bob and Irma drove to Baldwin City Sunday to help Tom and Janet Reznicek move to Lawrence.
