Jayson Hanschu, Hillsboro, took his wife Jan Friday to the Wesley Medical Center at Wichita where she gave birth to a boy weighing 8 pounds 1 ounce, 20 inches long. They named him Jaxxon Fredrick Hanschu. Jaxxon has two brothers, Jakob, 7, and Jorge, 3. Great-grandparents are Fred and Marguerite Utech. Grandparents are Joe and Joan Nowak, Pilsen, and Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu.
Grandma Jeanetta stayed with the boys, Jakob and Jorge, from Friday to Monday in Hillsboro. Mother Jan and baby Jaxxon went home Sunday night from Wesley Medical Center. Grandpa Junior went Sunday morning (Mother's Day) to Hillsboro to spend the day with Jeanetta, Jakob, and Jorge. They went to Zion Lutheran Church services.
Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik and family entertained Alex and Jean Stuchlik on Mother's Day for dinner.
Mike and Angela Stika hosted a birthday party Saturday for their daughter, Micayla's seventh birthday. They had a cookout. Guests were Glenn and Sandy Carlson, Katie and Andy of Burdick, Mr. and Mrs. Justin Carlson and girls of Burdick, Jason Stika, Shelly, Dalton, and Cody of Lincolnville, and Irma and Bob Reznicek.
We wish to express our sympathy to Ruby Scharping and family of Wichita. Her husband, Stanley Scharping died. His funeral was May 3 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at Wichita. A military burial was held at Pilsen Cemetery. After the interment, those gathering at the home of Frances Stuchlik were Linn and Becky Miller and Kathy Rutka of Phoenix, Ariz., Bill and Conna Stuchlik and Lauren of Roger Ark., Mark and Roberta Stuchlik of Edmond, Okla., Monty and Sarah Stuchlik and family, Larry and Susan Stuchlik of Lehigh, John and Chandra Stuchlik and family of Lincolnville.
Randy and Karen Stuchlik and family of Abilene, Terry and Grace Stuchlik and family of Emporia, Don and Ramona Beisel and family of Tampa, Kenneth and Melinda Stuchlik and family of Towanda, Ruby Scharping and family of Wichita, Tom and Carol Stuchlik and family of Topeka, Marilyn Stuchlik and family of Newton, Father Dick Stuchlik of Wichita, Joe Holub of Haysville, Linda Campbell of Salina, Alex and Jean Stuchlik, and other relatives and friends.
Clark Strecker and Laura of Rose Hill took me out to dinner for Mother's Day in Herington. My sons, Lowell T. Strecker, San Antonio, Texas, and Douglas A. Strecker, Hesston, called and wished me happy Mother's Day. Douglas was unable to come because a nephew, Jim Hunter, 38, Park City, died Friday of a massive heart attack. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hunter.
Christopher Stuchlik and son, Quentin called Sunday evening on Alex and Jean Stuchlik to wish Jean happy Mother's Day.
John and Helen Reznicek and Mike and Judy Cooper hosted a Sunday noon cookout at the Marion Reservoir. Guests were Neva Cooper, Bob and Carol Makovec, Randy and Colleen Klug, Alison and Nicole, Troy and Robyn Heitfield, Taylor and Madison, all of Herington, Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Sarah, Kary, Nicholas, and Nathan of Burlington, Charles and Mary Loewen, Jeremy and Dean Jost of Hillsboro, Jennifer Makovec of Salina, John and Lori Torline, Jennifer, Megan, Carolyn, and Matthew of Derby, and Bob and Irma Reznicek.
On Mother's Day, Frances Stuchlik received many phone calls and cards. Since Frances had to work at the Lutheran Home in Herington, Monty and Sarah Stuchlik and Ross, Mike and Candee Thode, and Dan and Melissa Stuchlik and Tanner of Wichita took Frances to the Dairy Queen to eat dinner. Randy and Karen Stuchlik of Abilene visited with Mom at the nursing home for a while to wish her happy Mother's Day.
